Our Night With the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce

2/4/2016

On January 6th, 2016 we hosted the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce. We were delighted and honored to kick off 2016 with a great group of business people from our community.
We had never done anything like this before and we were a bit nervous. I did all the planning and honestly it was almost like meeting the in-laws for the first time. I wanted everything to be perfect. I wanted them to like us and most of all have fun in our veterinary clinic and ask us tons of questions.
We did all of that and more. We had about 70 people here from the chamber. All local business people, even The Honorable Daniel S. Rovero, CT Representative and The Honorable Michael Alberts, CT Representative and The Honorable Mae Flexer, CT Senator. We also had several local bank representatives, and many other small business owners, and of course our town members were well represented. All were here from our community, supporting our community. It was a wonderful night of community appreciation.
We had the event catered by Renee’s Working Girl Catering and the food was delicious! They are local too so please check them out on their website.
We also had representatives and beer from Black Pond Brews. Again, a local company and they were doing beer tastings. You should visit them and tell them we sent you.
The night was about truly being part of our great community as a business and how we can all help to enrich it.
We gave tours and even turned an exam room into a photo booth. People really seemed to like that – check out the photos on Facebook from that night.
Most of all, I wanted to share this event with all of you to express how proud we are to be in the Quiet Corner and be able to contribute with jobs and growth to our area. We are making an impact not only for us but for all of you who live and work here. We want to make a difference and we feel we are.
It has only been about a year and three months since we opened but we truly feel blessed to be a part of this community.
Thank you for welcoming us and supporting us.
